 8-13-06 - Paterson General Alarm

On Sunday August 13th the Paterson NJ Fire Department responded to 58 Fulton St after companies that were already on the road from another job reported a heavy column of smoke. Coming down the block companies reported a fully involved 50x250 lumber and pallet yard with exposure to numerous buildings. Faced with serious water problems and an already advanced fire, additional alarms and extensive mutual aid was requested.

With the amount of exposures that needed to be protected, it was difficult to work on the actual fire load itself. After the arrival of the additional alarms and the water relays for water supply, companies began to gain control of the fire with minimal damage to the exposed buildings. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
