 2-19-06 - Belleville 4th Alarm

2-19-06 - Belleville 4th Alarm 119 Washington Ave On Sunday February 19th, the Belleville Fire Department responded to 119 Washington Ave. On arrival, first due companies found smoke showing from the "B" side basement windows of a 3sty residential over commercial building. After forcing entry into the building through the roll down doors, co's began advancing 2 1/2" lines to the fire. Mutual aid was quickly called as the fire rapidly advanced up the walls to the 3rd floor and eventually the cockloft. Several towns assisted as exterior operations were ordered due to deteriorating conditions. After a total of almost 4 alarms operating at the scene (few 3rd alarm companies still in staging), the fire was later brought under control without extension to the adjoining property and is still under investigation. There were no reported injuries. For more photos please visit www.PublicSafetyPictures.com
